Kia ora I’m Alice! I’m the new Eatery Success Specialist at Foodprint!
As a lover of all things kai, I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at Foodprint. I have been using the app since its 2019 release. Initially as a way to try new foods and eateries as a penny-scrunching uni student. Particularly in my uni days - but still now - my favourite thing to do on Foodprint is pick up ingredients that I wouldn’t typically buy in my weekly shop. It gives me a great opportunity to have a try at making different cuisines and dishes. This week I picked up a bag full of whole cardamons to make fresh masala chai.
I was raised in Dunedin, but have stepping-stoned my way up the country. First, studying in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, before landing in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland at the end of 2021.
I have been very lucky to extend my travelling habits internationally. I finished my Master’s studies last year, and went overseas for 3 months, visiting Mexico, North America and Vietnam. A week before starting at Foodprint I was on the island of Mallorca, just off the coast of Spain - insane I know!
When I am not scrolling the Foodprint app, you can find me walking around the city, or most likely in my flat’s kitchen scullery, cooking and listening along to NPR's tiny desk series.
