Hot Cross Bun French toast

Turn your rescued Hot Cross Buns into the perfect Easter brunch!


Ingredients:

 

2 rescued Hot Cross Buns (we rescued ours from Mint Cakery)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup milk of your choosing 

1 egg beaten

1 tablespoon butter or butter substitute

Rescued fruit to serve


Method:


  1. Combine the egg, milk, cinnamon and vanilla in a small bowl 

  2. Cut Hot Cross Buns in half

  3. Dip the Hot Cross Bun halves into the egg mixture

  4. Put butter into a frying pan on medium heat. Once the butter is melted, place the Hot Cross Buns into the pan

  5. Cook buns on each side until golden brown

  6. Serve with rescued fruit of your choice!
