Ingredients:
Fruit mixture:
3 cups of rescued apples and pears
¼ c brown or raw sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cardamom
50g butter, cubed
Crumble:
1 cups oats
1 TBSP cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup brown sugar
¼ cup flour
100g butter, cubed
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180 °C bake.
Cube 50g of butter and spread it around the base of your baking dish. We used a large cast-iron skillet.
Peel and chop fruit into bite-sized chunks. Spread the fruit evenly around your baking dish.
Combine the rest of the fruit mixture ingredients and stir through the fruit until all fruit is coated evenly.
Combine all the crumble ingredients, excluding the butter and mix thoroughly.
Using your hands, rub butter into the mixture until it resembles large crumbs.
Spread the mixture evenly over the fruit.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown.
Serve with rescued gelato or cream.
